MARKET RESEARCH FIRM CERTIFIED BY THE WOMEN’S BUSINESS ENTERPRISE NATIONAL COUNCIL (WBENC)
Global market research firm BARE International earns certification by the Business Enterprise National Council for the 19th consecutive year. CEO Dale Bare says of BARE workplace values and their team, “This is a family business, so we understand that family is a priority. We not only believe in a work / life balance; we fully support it.”
“We have an amazing tenure of employees, so it makes us very happy to know that we have created a workplace that is appealing to people, and they want to work for BARE”
Prior to BARE, Dale had recently completed the challenging task of launching Epic Residential Network, Inc. (ERNI), a member of the Epic companies. She was tasked with traveling around the country to initiate and run PR events promoting ERNI and providing marketing support to the team. The goal was to sell a nationwide inventory of residential properties to liquidate the limited partnerships that owned them. While our efforts were successful with ERNI, the Epic Corporation filed bankruptcy, and she was laid off.
From there, Dale became a PR consultant. One of her clients, Reston Hospital in Northern Virginia, contracted her to build community awareness and anticipation for its grand opening.
“I laid all the groundwork, creating buzz and excitement, but missed the big day’s events due to another exciting event—the birth of our son a couple of weeks earlier than expected!”
After that, she and President Mike Bare decided the timing was perfect for Dale to join Mike in launching their own business. Dale says, “He brought restaurant industry knowledge and contacts. I brought marketing and PR expertise. Everything else we learned along the way.”
Today, 35 years later, BARE International operates in over 150 countries across ten offices. “All work must be carried out with three basic ideals in mind: quality, innovation and passion,” says Dale. “This has proven to be a successful growth strategy for the company.”
WBENC’s national standard of certification is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women.
By including women-owned businesses among their suppliers, corporations and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier diversity programs.
